The EPA, European Union and other air agencies are forcing OEM's and engine manufacturers to make significant changes to their products in order to meet emissions reduction requirements. EPA Tier 4 and European Union Stage IIIB emissions levels require such a large reduction in NOx and PM that most engine manufacturers are forced to include a mix of EGR, SCR, DOC or DPF after-treatment solutions in their packages.
